Letterpress + Watercolor.

These letterpress business card were printed/created by Jordan Ferney of Oh Happy Day! My draw dropped when I saw that she has mixed two mediums, letterpress + watercolor. The combination is beautiful and very clever. Stunning, really.

Lindsey Lieu Designs Giveaway.

I have been dabbling in the art of letterpress for the past 6 months and have had such a great time that I started to create my own small line of paper goods. I am proud to announce that I am opening my own small online shop and will be giving away an assortment of paper goods to one lucky reader. Simply visit my shop and leave a comment below!

I will be announcing the winner on Tuesday, after the Holiday. Good Luck!

Looks like Jane of Lox Papers is the one and only winner, congrats!

Invitations + a platen press

Bostonka w Muzeum Książki Artystycznej - Łódź from Fajne chłopaki on Vimeo.

These "invitations for every occasion" were printed by the designers in the video at the Book Art Museum in Lodz, Poland. I loved the contrast of a bright orangey red with a rich black. Plus it's pretty great to see them creating them using a platen press.

How clever are these save the dates? I just love that they were able to silk screen their invitation on a balloon!

{Letterpress Filled} Weekend Recap

A few snippets from my weekend, which ended up being just as lovely as I thought it would be. It was filled with setting type, mixing colors, and creating some beautiful cards and a western themed book. My classmates were beyond amazing and I left feeling very inspired!

How was your weekend?

Hooray for the {Letterpress filled} Weekend!

Happy Friday everyone! I have signed my self up for two letterpress classes this weekend and can't wait to get my hands on a Vandercook once again. The thought of working with old school type and freshly printed paper makes me giddy.

What is everyone else up to?

Letterpress: this one's for Deb.

This past Saturday I ventured to Jordan Ferney's (of Oh Happy Day!) studio to take a beginning letterpress class. We used a beautiful Vandercook and whipped up a batch of our very own business cards. I have always been enamored with the beauty of letterpress because of the tactility that is a sign of the actual press and set of hands that created it.
